I’m getting fancy rats soon and I’m just wondering if it’s possible to be allergic to them. I don’t have allergies to fur or anything, but it would be a bummer if I was somehow allergic. If it’s possible, would hairless rats be better?

Can you develop allergies over time? Starting this spring (same time that i got my guinea pig) I started getting really bad watery eyes, runny nose, sore throat, coughing… since then, i have rehomed my guinea pig (with a friend), and my symptoms are almost completey gone. I’ve also started using those nasal rinse things…

The only thing that is left, is SOMETIMES i wake up with a little watery eyes… and once or twice a day i get ONE throb in my temple… its not liek a headache, cause it doesn’t last more than one throb. Its not sharp or painful, just wondering why?… is that also a symptom of allergy/sinus buildup?

I’ve never had any seasonal or pet allergies before this year… so i’m not really sure what to think..
also, one of my nostrils seems to usually be a little stuffy… its not always the same side…. not runny.. just a lil stuffy
could having the guinea pig trigger my allergies that i’ve never noticed before… i only had him a few months, and hes been in his new home for about a month now

I love them so much that I pet and play with them anyways, but afterwards my eyes get itchy, I start sneezing, my throat itches etc. Is there anything I can do to get rid of these allergies ( So that it won’t happen ever again while I have the cat )?

His cry is not as strong as it used to be and I don’t know if maybe he’s just getting sick but he does lil quick intakes of breath sometimes when he is asleep,it worries me and now I want to check him for asthma but don’t know how they check for that or how old they need to be?
ok to chocohoma or however it is,this is a place to learn from others experiences,and of course i will bring this up to his pediatrician but I am so sick of these drs who make us feel like we are just overbearing parents who worry over something that they claim is “normal” I just got into an argument with his dr yesterday because I wanted xrays and he didn’t want to give it and i said that’s fine but I will go elsewhere anyways and get a second opinion,I’m not taking chances with my son,Can you believe what he told me next???You should be his dr then!….What a punk! I told him flat out I don’t care i want an xray and guess what? he gave me the order.I just hope he was right when he said my son is fine but better safe than sorry best way to be.

I have heard that tea could help relieve asthma symptoms, but I don’t know if it’s green or black, and if there are any herba/ teas that might help.

my moms asthma is severe and they gave her presidonze which is a steriod and some antibiotic medicine to prevent an infection in her throat/lungs. Will she get better? she hasnt had an asthma attack? but has some inhaler which is i think albertrol

MY daughter produces lot of catarrh culminating in asthma, are the syrups and medicines in the market good for the prevention and/or formation of catarrah or is it that asthmatic children do not benefit from them at all? I appreciate your help and answers.
