I have asthma and have been wanting to join the RAF for some time now. However, I recently discovered that having asthma prevents you from joining. If you have been asthma and medication free for 4 years, you can be accepted as ground crew but not for airmen. Why can’t you fly or be accepted into the RAF with asthma?

How do I know if my trouble breathing is asthma or just allergies?

SineWave asked:

I’m not aware of any allergies but lately at certain times of the day, mainly after 2pm, I struggle to take deep breathes. It’s like there are weights on my lungs that won’t allow them to expand and it takes 1o minuutes to get a good breath in. Should I see a doctor?
If I’m not experiencing the breathing problems when I visit, will they still be able to see the problem, or at least give me a treatment option?

My boyfriend has severe nut, egg, wheat, pea and lentil allergies (if he eats them he’ll be dead in a minute!)

I want to cook him a meal, but i want to try something new because we eat the same things often.

Has anybody got any recipe ideas for us?

Thanks x
