Wife wants a Yellow Lab but seems to shed a lot and thought that would be bad for allergies.

What kind of cats can I get if my landlord is allergic to dander and where can I find them on Long Island?

My landlord is allergic to either fur or hair and said that we could not have a cat due to this. I am assuming that its the dander that she is allergic to (I was when I was younger too) and I want to have a kitten really bad. What breeds of cats should I look into that are low on dander or hairless?

I had a blood transfusion when I was 20. Prior to the transfusion I never had a reaction with medications or allergies of any kind. About a month after the transfusion I had a severe reaction to penicillin. The following spring I began to develop allergies. It’s the only thing I can think of that would trigger a sudden onslaught, although I’ve heard that you can develop allergies as you age. So I’m wondering if I could have picked something up from the blood I recieved?
