I haven’t really been having a lot of allergies, but I’ve been taking two allergy pills a night, for a week, to build up immunity. But I find I’m groggy in the morning, and today I haven’t been feeling that great. Should I stop taking them for a bit?

If you’re taking allergy pills every night you’re not really building up an immunity. If you rely to much on the pills your body will not build up it’s natural immunity. Also the pills you are taking sound like Benadryl which will definitely have you feeling groggy in the morning. Try getting some Claritin or Zantac at any pharmacy. You can take this in the morning and it won’t make you drowsy.

You need to find out what is causing the allergy. Inside such as feather pillows, dustmites, pets, perfumes, etc or outside like pollen. Ask your dr for a referral to be allergy tested. Also you may find the newer anti histamines will not make you drowsy, Reactine, Claritine etc.. but if you use the same one for a long period of time, you will find it starts to not work as well, your body gets used to it & it doesn’t do the job, so mix it up between a few good ones. If you need it, you can even get nasal spray antihistamines from your dr.

I would only take allergy medicine if you are having allergy symptoms. If not don’t take them. I don’t know what you are taking, but are you supposed to take two?? I only take one at night. And yes I take it every night for my allergies and that is ok.
