Get a bird or hamster, they’re not as active as a dog or cat and can be confined to one area of the house.

Try an aquarium. Freshwater are easy and fun. Cichlids are active and mischievous.

    A Beta or a Gecko.

If you are interested in a dog, you could look into a Standare Poodle or an Afghan Hound. Their coats are Hair & Not fur & there fore do not shed. It would depend on what your mom is allergic to, she may not be able to tolerate any pets.

a turtle and fish and snakes.

Molan, what kind of allergies? I ask because if she is allergic to animal hair, find out if fur bothers her. My step mother was allergic to animal hair, but when we visited a family we knew, their dog did not set off her allergies. We found out that the Terrier has fur, and not hair, and the fur was not an issue to her. Find out, and perhaps she’ll get the critter for you.

It depends on your living style and just what sort of animal you would like. Many people have snakes, lizards, turtles, and fish. These exotics have special needs, but if you’re willing to supply them with what they need, you may find that these animals can make wonderful pets. If you’de like a dog, a poodle is hypoallergenic. It has hair instead of fur. But bringing a pet into the family should be a family decision. Do your research and I’m sure you’ll find the perfect companion. Good luck!

Off the top of my head I can safely say poodle! As for cats, one of those hairless ones but here’s what I know. My cousin is highly allergic to cats but not her own. I’m allergic to cats but not my own. Every animal has different dander and you get used to that dander. I don’t pet other peoples cats and when I play with my own, I’m sure to keep them from touching my face and I was my hands right after I touch or at least be sure I don’t rub my eyes or anything until I wash my hands. I’m allergic to dust but I still have my horses, brushing them and dealing with hay is tuff but I deal with it cause I love it.

What is your mother allergic to precisely? If it’s to dogs and or cats it’s actually the dander she’s allergic to and there are pet shampoos you can use to eliminate or reduce the amount of dander. You can also choose a single coated breed such as a poodle or Maltese dog for example.

If your mother isn’t allergic to feathers, a parakeet might be a good choice. But, if she’s allergic to all those things (especially severely allergic) you might have to stick with something such as fish or a reptile until you are out on your own.

It depends on your mom. Usually allergies are from pet dander. Those that could do well would be for cats would be those ugy Cornish Rex and Devon Rex hairless looking cats. However if your mom is allergic to the saliva then none of these would be good candidates. Then I’d say get a fish or an ant farm. lol
