How can you tell if your baby have pet & food allergies?

1. How can you tell if your baby have pet & food allergies?
2. What are the symptoms/things you should look for in both allergies?
3. Have you have any experience with these two?

My 5 month old is having a lot of acne. It looks like acne. Lately, she has been producing a lot of saliva, and she is always sticking her hand in her mouth too. She is also touching her face with her hand a lot. She seems too have acne on her forehead, chin, cheeks, under neck, and starting on her back. She don’t seem to have a fever, i took her temp(98 F). No poopy problem. No throwups. We do have 2 small dogs, they are outside dogs.

I just want to get some input on Yahoo!Answer before calling her doc. Thanks a lot.

    Hi!
Yeah, i’ve got some experience: I’ve got both. I’ve some severe food allergies, and my parents discovered it, because I was ‘becoming a monster’ as my older sister (how was feeding me) called it. My head blew up and I couldn’t breath anymore, and then I got in a coma for 1 day (anafalactic shock or something, they call it).
So that’s one of the main symptoms of a severe allergy.

But I’m also allergic to cats: when I touch them with my skin, that particular part of my skin it becomes itchy and a bit red and it becomes a bit bigger. But when I don’t touch them, I don’t have problems with them (I’m studying to become a vet, so it’s not such a big problem).

It can be an allergy, but it doesn’t have to be. I think you should take your child to a doctor, he/she can take an easy test, and then you know for sure! And if it’s something else, he/she can give you some ointment for the acne.
    Good luck!

Firstly,it maybe that shes teething, thats why shes slavering and chewing her hands-also,she maybe exploring her hands by touching her face-the rash on her face maybe also be because shes teething-different people vary in how they react to certain things-my daughter has severe nut, legume (peas and beans) and animal allergies-the things to look out for are-:
    1) a runny nose
    2) coughing
    3) vomiting
    4) swollen lips/eyes
    5) hives-these looks like nettle stings (raised spots that are white surrounded by a red rash)
    6) difficulty in breathing/wheezing
    7) dizziness 8) unconciousness
If any of 3) to 8) happen, you need to get her to hospital straight away as this is a serious reaction and she may go into anaphylactic shock-this is where the antibodies attack your body and all your body starts to shut down which can lead to death-if you are still concerned about the rash, get her straight to the doctor-hope this helps
