I want something friendly and cute. Something you can interact with? Not fish.

A tortoise, like from Blue Peter. They’re cool, and don’t have fur. Or a Fish, but they’re a bit boring

I would say a rabbit or a guinea pig as just because your allergic to cat and dog hair doesn’t mean that you’ll be allergic to rabbits and guinea pigs. Rabbits are very similar to cats, and ferrets and guinea pigs are similar to dogs.

There are actually a few different dogs and cats that are supposedly hypoallergenic. The type of cat is the Siberian, its a gorgeous long hair cat that originated in Russia. The Native American Indian Dog is also supposed to be hypoallergenic. It looks very similar to the wolf. Both breeds sound very friendly from their descriptions but the cost is pretty hefty at $1,500 each(or so).

You could also try fish, although fish tanks are generally quite a bit of work to clean out and keep maintaned. Or you could go with reptiles which are a bit easier to maintain than fish. Or rodents, I’m not sure if your allergies extend to those but rats can be very sweet pets, I especially like the blue rat which is smaller in size than your average rat and has a nice blue grey color.

If you like dogs, the Poodles are the right one for you. Don’t worry, they are not required to have those silly haircuts. They are considered hypo-allerginic! Keeping a dog outdoors is also an option-as long as they have a house to go to for weather.
If you like cats, any is right for you. If the cat is bathed about once a week (they get use to it and there are also special cat holders) that takes care of most of the dander people have allergies too.
Talk to you vet about that-I also believe there is a wipe to use on them.
    Fish can smell-
Livestock are wonderful-but if cats and dogs are an issue, then you will probably have trouble with the hay and such.
Reptiles are cool but expensive to start and they live a long time.
I would steer away from birds. Very messy and there can be a lot of dander.
I hope that helps and good luck with your journey.

Rabbit, Giny Pig, Hampster (but hampsters tend to be escape artists, and they can be mistaken for mice. ).

    depends on your allergies.
If you are allergic to the wood bedding or animal hair in general..no small rodent will work. Mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits etc…all shed…as most furred animals shed, with the exception of certain types of dogs..like Poodles. Hairless cats and dogs are prohibitively expensive.
Some people are allergic to the guano produced by lizards or reptiles.

You may be able to have a small rodent if the bedding is the problem. I have known people who use old towels and just change them everyday and throw the soiled ones into the wash.

It really depends on what you are allergic to.
