If you keep it bathed regularly it shouldn’t be a big problem. I have slight allergies to animals as well and we have a Jack Russell mix and she hasn’t bothered my allergies at all.

Depends on your mom, and depends on the specific dog.

The best bet would be to spend some one-on-one time with the dog to see if there are any reactions, before the adoption takes place.

It depends on your mothers allergy-has she been diagnosed with only dander? Some people are allergic to dander, the hair, the dogs saliva, or any combination of these. Take your mom to a good breeder of jacks and see how she reacts. Have her pet them, play with them, let them lick her…see if she has any reaction (it may take mins up to hours).

Don’t get a puppy unless you are absolutely sure about her allergy. Its not fair to a pup/dog to have it in your home then have to get rid of it because of allergies. Bathing may not help either and over bathing can be just as bad for the dog…over bathing can give the dog skin and coat problems.

I’m not really that sure about jacks but I know that one of the best to get for no reaction is a poodle because they don’t shed and most anything mixed with them like peek-a-poo, cock-a-poo, etc.

Not at all Jack Russell/ Fox Terriers have a lot of dander and shed like crazy. No way, If you like that kind of dog look at a Wired Hair Fox Terrier, or a Miniature Schnauzer. They both have a the same temperament as a Jack Russell. There are a lot of dogs you can have. So don’t be done because you can’t get that one. Also look at Silkies, Carin, Westies, Irish, all Terriers

No. A JRT is not a good choice for allergy sufferers. They have a lot of dander and shed a lot.
