Depends on what you allergy is. If it is just an allergy to hair you can get a poodle. They don’t shed and have been dubbed the “hypo allergenic dog”
If it is to dander I am going to have to think about it some more.

Poodles are non allergenic. They are supposed to have the hair that people are not allergic to. My mother had allergies to almost all animals, but she had poodles and they didn’t bother her at all. I think a Bichon Frise has the same type of hair.

A potbellied pig would be cool. Or a poodle mix like a F1b goldendoodle. (75% poodle, 25% golden)

Never heard about birds. I am violently allergic to cats. Supposedly Himalayan cats are hypoallergenic. I handled one once and still got a reaction, although delayed, but it had been interacting with a regular cat, so it might have been that. Find a Himalayan breeder and ask them.
For dogs, check out a Wheaten Terrier, supposedly also hypoallergenic.
It depends on how strong your allergy. Cats make me really react - red eyes, hives, the whole thing. I do get a reaction from some dogs, but usually only ones with very oily coats. Dry-haired dogs are never a problem, but we used to have a cocker and a golden that I developed allergies to, but it was more like a dirt/mold allergy - made me sneeze, but nothing like what cats do.
So check out the hypoallergenic breeds.
Can’t help you on the birds, however I might suggest it might not be the bird itself, but the cage lining and/or if it’s not clean.
Also pet stores keep birds near rodents, sometimes you might be looking at the birds but really reacting to the rodents around you.

why not try a rabbit? from what i think, it’s best not to have a very furry animal. why don’t you try: naked mole rat, fish, turtle, lizard, there are so many other non-furry animals that need your love. so show it!

My husband is allergic to horses, chinchillas, rabbits, guinea pigs, cat saliva(dander doesn’t bother him so we have 3) short haired dogs and birds. My 21 mice don’t bother him at all. I’m assuming since they are so small the dander must not affect him. We had gerbils too and they didn’t bother him also. This is a hard one, you don’t want to go out and buy everything and then realize that your allergic. Maybe you can pet sit some friends small furry animals and see what happens from there. Good luck and I hope you find a cuddly furry pet to love!

A hedgehog does not cause allergies, but he’s only furry on the belly. Also, they are illegal in some states such as California and Georgia.
