Whenever the topic of allergies come up, people are always shocked that I have an allergy to fur, because I own pets. I love animals though, just because I’m allergic shouldn’t mean I shouldn’t own them, does it?

My friends are always like “why do your parents let you keep them if you’re allergic?” Its my choice!

Plus, people always overreact with things like this. Most people only sneeze with animals, is that such a big deal? I get a rash on my neck and arms, my eyes won’t stop crying because they’re irritated and I have sneezing fits, but I’d prefer to have that than to miss out on the wonderful relationships I have with my pets.

well my mum has an allergic reaction to pet hair and recently my brother bought a rottweiler and she was dreading going up his house but when she got there she seemed fine. Then my brother had another dog from a puppy she wasnt allergic to it but she came out in a rash on her neck and wrists. But eventually she got use to it. You can buy tablets which help with you allergy like eg hayfever buy tablets to help you from sneezing.Or i guess you could buy animals with wolly fur and dont malt as often.

well im basically allergic to anything that is airborne (a little bit of an exaggeration but you gett he idea)

anyway I have two cats, and if I pet them and touch my eyes, they get really itchy. I probably sneeze and sniffle more than if i didnt, but i love them, so i know how you feel. I love dogs but if I were to get one or several, they would be dogs like poodles, maltese or any other dog that doesnt really shed.

if your allergies are death-threatening, then its not REALLY horrible to have pets, but it still is not the healthiest thing. You may want to talk to your allergist about allergy shots, because those can really help (it didnt work for me but does wonders on my sister) In addition, accupunture also really helps some people too.

If you want the allergy gone, take a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day and within a month or so you will be free of it. The body works with local honey to naturally develop immunity to anything in the air. That includes pet dander, pollen, mold, smog, dust, etc. This will make the relationship with your pets infinitely more enjoyable.
Local honey also boosts your immune system making you healthier overall.

my 3 year old got a black lab for x-mas and 4 months later we got his allergy blood work back and it said he is Class 4 to dogs.I put her outside and cleaned my carpet. My son loves that dog and plays with her everyday all day. When he starts to itch he tells her “break Time” and then about 20 or 25 minutes they are back at it.I wont let her in the house but he loves that dog and she loves him.Gettin rid of her would be worse then the allergy I think.
