Pets are like people in that they need vaccinations, food, water, safe, warm, dry place to sleep/play and love. I am only asking about the food you provide for your pet/s?

I’m curious to know as it seems that many love their pets and would spare no expense for their care. Yet, I come accross some that have pets as long as it will not cost them much.

After what happened with the tainted food that killed many pets. I became very aware as to what is being put in those commercial pet foods. I researched what is put in and what that stuff does.

Did you know that things like corn, rice and wheat can cause pets allergies? I didn’t until I read about it. I like Life’s Abundance because it is made from US only products fresh and shipped not set on shelves. It does not have any junk fillers like by-products or corn and such in it that may cause harm. It does cost more though. Here is site:http://www.healthypetnet.com/janes/ Is it worth paying more? Or do you just keep looking in stores?

very concerned, after doing research, i have completely changed my pets diet. They eat mostly raw, some cooked, and special kibbles that are made to complement a raw food diet. Pets also don’t need all those shots, but they have to to be allowed into training and boarding and things like that, which pisses me off to no end because vaccines are so bad for people and animals!

I was very aware of the rice, corn and wheat can cause allergies. My dog went to school and they had said that.I did research myself and I chose Nutra brand. It cannot be find in groceries stores and my dog fur shine and he likes healthy. I but 20 pounds bag of dry food it cost me 24.99. They also sell treats and other food products for dogs. During the recall there where no Nutra involved. Im very happy with this brand its cost more but its all natural.

I live in Australia and the most expensive cat food here is Purina One. I used to buy it until about two weeks ago when I found a large lump of something in there which had maggots. I e-mailed the company and got no response from them. I am worried to use this brand now. Now I am buying whiskers which is popular but a lot cheaper. Someone on this website answered one of my questions and told me cereals are not good for cats and to check the first three ingredients to find out what it contains the most of. The first ingredient in Purina One was chicken but in whiskers it is cereals. I don’t know what to do now. I am thinking of giving her whiskers for now until maybe they have sold that bad batch. I can’t feed her this rubbish for much longer.
I also feed her raw mince which is her favourite. Someone told me about the prepackaged mince packets for cats but then it was discovered the preservatives can cause organ failure in cats over time. I now feed her mince. My uncle is a butcher so he only sells me the best mince and she eats that too.
I think it is important to feed your cat good food. Here whiskers is the most popular brand of cat food but after reading the ingredients I realise that there are many cats out there not eating the right food. The whiskers packets of wet food say beef but the ingredients say chicken and/or sheep and/or pork and then beef is the second ingredient. It is a worry that they have to say and/or because they don’t even know what they have put in there. Next grocery trip I will be doing some reading in the pet food isle.
