How long does asthma stay with someone?

It can stay with you for your whole life.

Depends on the person. Some times it only lasts a year or two, and sometimes it lasts their whole life.

My brother “grew out of it” when he was around 18, but when he gets a bad cold he sometimes has trouble and has to take his meds.
My mother and grandfather never grew out of it though

I have read some studies that dairy products like milk, cheese, etc. may cause or inflame the symtoms of asthma. Try limiting dairy consumption and see if that helps at all.

continue your medicines. Get a humidifier for his room. keep a nebulizer on hand with albuterol and atrovent just in case. Give him at least one treatment daily or as needed. An oxygen tank for the nebulizer treatements wouldn’t hurt either.
unfortunately asthma is life long.

i have had it ever since i was born.. I had the stay in the hospital a little longer because of it. My parents said. Its depends on how you take care of your body. if you drink or smoke it will make it worse and it wont go away. If you dont do anything eat healthy then he should grow out of it while he is growing.
