do yoga, in it pranayam is the best technique to improve your lung capacity.you walk daily at least 5 km.drink plenty of water that is up to 10 to 12 glass per day.aviode dust and croweded places, keep your room, where you sleep, clean, clutter free, with lot of fresh air and light.use antiasthmatic inhaler often as needed.

Agree with the above posters and also add that in your bedroom, you should have NO carpet, or vacuum a lot! Your bedding needs to be changed frequently and your mattress vacuumed to get out the ‘dust mites’. Down Comforters/Pillows are usually a no go with Asmtha sufferers because of the dust, but there are some really good comforters out there that are ok for Asthmatics.. just haave to clean them regularly is all :)

Most Asthmatics I know can’t have Cats, dogs and yes, even birds - especially birds (and their dust) can irritate your lungs.

I agree with all of the above posters and i would like to add that the level of your current fitness is to be considered. i.e. if you are already walking 8 km a day you could safely add one km every month depending on you free time, whilst to jump into a exercise regime from complete apathy would be dangerous for anyone especially one with asthma. Discuss this with your Doctor as you should with everything that worries you about asthma and so you could arrange an exercise programme suited to your specific condition.
