I have athletes asthma, I have never had an attack but my lungs get tight when I run and I can’t run for more than 5 minutes consecutively.

I started running only 3 days ago mind you..

But do you think it is possible for me to be able to learn to run 1.5 miles in 14 minutes?
I’ve got about 7 months to be able to run this.

Yes, this is very possible. Im in cross country and i have asthma. Yesterday we had a meet and i ran 2.5 miles in 19 minutes.. and something seconds.
But iv been training since august. Three days may not be enough time to get in shape enough to be able to do this. Keep training, and always remember to stretch after working out.
And if your lungs do get tight, take 2-3 puffs of your inhaler about 20 minutes before you work out, or run. This should loosen them up and help you breathe a little better.

I had a high school XC teammate who had asthma. He eventually was All-State, and went on to be All-American Div. II.

It is more than possible to be a successful runner with asthma.

i have had stress induced asthma all my life. i used to run the mile in 4:10 and the half in 1:58. i have completed sub 3hr marathons and raced pro2 in cycling. with treatment and training you can do anything you want.
