My daughter broke out into a rash and her face swollen twice its size she is only2. I am wondering what she is allergic to how many days before she was exposed. Me and my hus. are not allergic to anything. My daughter has eaten eggs etc. with no problem. I took her to the ER they put her on steriods. But I want to find out what she is allergic to so I need to narrow the time frame of how long it takes for an allergic reaction to happean.

you need to take her to her doc to do some skin test. sometimes they are allergic to different foods when they are young then they end up being grown up and not allergic. like blueberrys. my daughter was allergic to them until she was about 11 or so. or animals. cats my daughter and i will never outgrow it. but dogs we get used to after awhile. some allergys show up within minutes. just becareful. but not too careful to stress out about something that can happen no matter how careful you are.

Sorry that you are going through this with your daughter. I know its difficult to deal with because I have had lifelong food allergies and I passed it on to my 12 year old son. I can honestly tell you that there are varying types of reactions. For the more severe (anaphylactic) type there is almost always an immediate reaction, such as facial swelling (edema), trouble breathing and throat closure. A less severe reaction, such as hives, rashes and itchy throat can occur anywhere from 1 hour to about 4 hours after the offending substance is touched, breathed in, or injested. Hope this helps…Good luck!
