There’s stuff that you can get, I can’t remember the name, but you rub it in your cat and it dries really quickly. It smells nice, and it majorly reduces allergies. We almost had to get rid of my kitten because my brother had severe allergies, and we bought this stuff and my brother never had allergies again.
I’d also suggest brushing the cat daily, not letting the cat sleep in his bed, and not holding the cat close to his face if at all. Also, if you have carpet in your house, it’s better for the cat to stay in areas with hardwood or other types of flooring, so the fur doesn’t stay trapped in the carpet and it’s easier to vacuum off of the floor (if possible).
I hope you can get a cat, the sneezing is worth it in my opinion when you have a fluffy, lifetime companion. Try checking out your local pet store for that product I mentioned.

He should buy an air purifier. They clear allergens out of the air. It worked with my nephew who was severely allergic to my cat as a baby.
