My nose is stuffy, my nose is running, my sneezing a bit, my eyes are sometimes watery… And I don’t want to go to the doctor for, if it turns out to be, a cold.
Also, I have environment allergies in the fall.

If the sneezes are really hard and violent it is allergies. If the mucous is clear it is allergies.
If it clears up sometimes, like in a cleanpet a nd pollen free place, it is allergies.
If you go to an allergist and he tests you and you ahve allergies to almost everything, lke me, it is from allergies.
I take a Claritin allergy pill every day or I can’t breath when I wake up. We have a cat–I am allergic to him.

The symptoms can be very similar. Allergic rhinitis (runny nose) is often associated with more sneezing, itchy nose and/or eyes. Cough is not usually a big part of allergic symptoms. Runny nose is usually clear.
Colds usually do have some cough with them and tend to hurt more with sinus pressure, etc. Runny nose can be clear or discolored.
One simple test would be to try a few antihistamines over the counter (claritin and benadryl are examples) - if you are able to take them - to see if they help. They will usually help allergy symptoms quite a bit, but for colds they do very little.

Colds last for days, allergies for a long time! Cold are contagious, allergies aren’t, so are your friends/families suffering? Allergies may get better using antihistimine over the counter remedies e.g. piriton tablets, colds wont. If its not better in 3 days go to a pharmacist for advice, then, if he doesn’t help, go to a doctor. Feel better soon!

if you are allergic to something I believe you have this condition for sometime, so you are able to “self-diagnose”. A common cold is cured by doctors in 7 days and by GOD in a week! Usually after 3 days of hot tea and aspirin in a cold you’ll see results!
In an allergy usually you don’t have the time to wait 3 days. Your condition worsenes every hour! there are a lot of drugs to take for this affection but is advisible to let the “good” doctor to prescribe them! taking some drugs with no specialist advice can make the symptoms not so obvious and hard to detect. it will late a proper diagnostic and the necessary cure1

Usually, you would know the stuff you are allergic to, like pollen or cat hair. Think if you were recently exposed to the allergen. If you were and your mucus is clear it might be an allergic reaction. Anti allergic tablets may help.If you have a cold, mucus would be coloured and sneezing would be accompanied by coughs and sometimes bodily discomforts like body aches and headaches. Better to check up with a doctor.

do the phlegm test: is it clear? Then you’re in THE CLEAR–just an allergy.
Is it green? green means GO–to your doctor, because you’ve got an infection.
