What is a good city to live in for someone with a lot of allergies?

I currently live in Austin, Texas, a city known for its allergies. Many people move here without ever suffering with allergies and then end up getting them. I want to move to another city that has a lot of the cool things Austin has but without the allergies. Any ideas?

I just moved to Austin from Arizona and you are right. I never ever had allergies until I moved here. Arizona is pretty good allergy wise, Scottsdale is fun but definanly a different vibe. Flagstaff is also fun and a bit smaller.

They completly went away when I lived in Albuquerque, NM, and also when I was living in Guanajuato, Mexico. Both in the desert! The dry air makes it impossible for dust mites and molds to survive, and that is the source of many people’s allergies. Of course, there not being much plantlife helps too…
I had problems in Phoenix because so many non-native plants had been brought in, and all of the swimming pools actually increased the humidity. It was still better than Austin, though.
